This Privacy Policy explains how Drainingliving (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information when you visit our website or contact us.

We are based in New Zealand and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs). Where you are in the European Economic Area, additional GDPR rights are described in Section 12.

2. What Personal Information We Collect

We only collect information reasonably necessary for the purposes below:

  • Identity and contact details: name and email when you use our contact form.
  • Communications: message content you send voluntarily.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed — only if you accept analytics cookies (Cookie Policy).
  • Cookie preferences: consent choices stored in your browser.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive health information through this site.

We will not use your information for incompatible purposes without authorisation or legal permission (IPP 10).

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose it to service providers (email, hosting, analytics), professional advisers, or authorities when required by law. We take reasonable steps to ensure third parties protect your information (IPP 11).

6. Overseas Disclosure

Some providers may process data outside New Zealand. Where we disclose information overseas, we comply with IPP 12 using comparable safeguards, your authorisation, or another permitted exception.

  • Contact form: up to 24 months from your last message.
  • Analytics: anonymised data up to 26 months where enabled.

We destroy or de-identify information when it is no longer needed (IPP 9).

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards including HTTPS, access controls, and periodic review (IPP 5). No system is completely secure online.

9. Access, Correction, and Complaints

You may request access (IPP 6) or correction (IPP 7) of personal information we hold. Contact us using Section 1. We aim to respond within 20 working days where the Privacy Act applies.

10. Notifiable Privacy Breaches

If a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Privacy Commissioner as required by the Privacy Act 2020.

11. European Economic Area Visitors

EEA visitors may have additional GDPR rights, including portability and complaint to a local supervisory authority. Transfers may use standard contractual clauses or other approved safeguards.

12. Children

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16 without parental consent. Contact us to request deletion if you believe a child has submitted data.

13. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
